In this blog, I walk you through installing the BeDazzleLiT 8 Function Wheel Light on the standard 8 spoke Wheelchair wheel.
To begin you will need the following materials: (4) 8 inch tie wraps, (1) 4 inch tie wrap, and a pair of cutters. I have purposely used white tie wraps for illustration and visibility purposes only since the majority of these wheels are black.
Step1. Begin with unwinding the lights and run through the loop at the top of the control box as shown above.
Step 2. Take (2) of the 8 inch tie wraps and slide through the velcro strap as shown.
Step 3. Take (2) 8 inch tie wraps and tie around two of the wheel spokes between 3 to 4 inches above the center of the wheel as shown. Cut the tie wrap extensions.
Step 4. Now we are ready to create a chain link to attache the control box to the wheel. Take the control box with the previously inserted tie wraps in step 2 and link to the tie wraps installed on the spoke in step 3. Make sure the control box is sitting between the 2 spokes as picture below.
Step 5. Sinch the tie wraps that created the chain link to secure and then cut the tie wrap extensions.
Step 6. Wheelchairs have a wheel with hand rail attached. Take the wired light and route between the wheel and hand rail and wrap around the diameter of the wheel. The wired lights will be sitting on top of the rods that connect the wheel and hand rail.
Final Step. Take the 4 inch tie wrap and tie the end of the light to the inside if the hand rail. You 8 spoke wheel is now BeDazzleLiT!
